An Introduction to Tarot with Misha Huntting Dumois
We're so excited to introduce one of our favorite local artists and Tarot experts, Misha Huntting Dumois. This course will include a brief history of tarot throughout the world, examining the consistencies across cultures. Drinks and snacks in hand, we'll follow up with tips and tricks for memorizing the cards, and provide a hands on tutorial on tarot with guided reading practice. Students are encouraged to bring the tarot deck of your choice, and we'll have Misha's Flowers From The Dead deck available for purchase.
Misha has been practicing tarot since age 10 after being taught by her mother and aunt (both tarot enthusiasts since the 1960’s), who went on to do it professionally. The great grand daughter of a spiritualist leader and automatic writer as well, you could say it’s in her blood! Starting to read for others as a teenager, Misha returned to tarot as an adult to create an art and tarot project called the “American Obscura”. A project 3 years in the making this tarot deck combined traditional tarot with American history and modern day archetypes. Misha’s most recent project is an oracle deck based on spirit animals native to North America. A tarot history enthusiast and experienced reader, Misha is looking forward to teaching and sharing her lifetime of tarot wisdom.

Growing up on a sheep farm in the deep south of New Zealand's South Island, Warwick learned the fundamental practice of firstly growing food, then the essential practice of preparation and maximization of what the product had to offer, whether fish or meat, fruit or vegetable. Following an early exit from high school he signed up for, and completed, a 4 year culinary apprenticeship. From there a full life of travel, mad experiences and education ensued. Today, Warwick operates a landscape design and installation business, and works with design and ingenuity to integrate indoor living spaces with the outdoors through a variety of mediums.
Warwick and his wife Stephanie live in the beautiful and remote San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington State. Focusing on using the finest products and ingredients grown by the island's farmers, he and Stephanie host unique and original dining events in the islands.
